Staffordshire is a county of contrasts; perhaps the most famous thing about Staffordshire is its industrial side with the potteries of Spode and Wedgewood, which you can still visit today, in Stoke-on-Trent but it also one of the biggest brewing counties with the town of Burton-on-Trent. It has beautiful and historic towns and cities with the city of Lichfield with its dramatic cathedral or visit the birthplace of Dr Samuel Johnson or the hilltop textile town of Leek. It also has outstanding landscape sitting in part in the Peak District the first National Park in Britain; visit the Manifold Valley or the place where Izaak Walton got his inspiration for The Compleat Angler.
