I'm a Blue Badge Guide for the South West of England and co-owner of Britain's Best Heritage Tours.

The Blue Badge is Britain's definitive tour guiding qualification and is gained after extensive study and a series of rigorous examinations - both written and practical. 

I have been co-owner of long-established walking and hiking holiday company Footpath Holidays since 1992.

I grew up beside the Tamar estuary the natural boundary between Cornwall and Devon, I have family ties to Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. That connects me to the whole South West region and I adore it.

I like nothing more than sharing my love of this very special area; its people, its landscape, its history and folklore, and its traditions.

Guide

I am Heather (daughter of Ian) and co-owner of Britain's Best Heritage Tours. I am a qualified Blue Badge Tour Guide for both South Central England, the Heart of England, and I am qualified to guide Windsor and Windsor Castle. I am also registered driver guide.

I have a degree in Countryside and Environmental Management from one of the United Kingdom’s top land based universities and have been guiding tours for over a decade.

I have grown up in and around the countryside and at one point worked as a ranger for the National Trust on one of its largest countryside estates.

Because of this my tours include ecology, flora, fauna, rural crafts and landscape archeology but I also love talking about history, prehistory, art history, literary history and folklore and have taken various courses and accreditations on these subjects.
