Ancestry and GenealogyList Item 2
Keen to trace your ancestry?
There really is nothing like discovering your roots and getting to know the area your forebears called home. History is at its most interesting when you're connected to it.
With our own family roots scattered across the South West and the Heart of England we are ideally placed to help. We can help with your research too.
You may end up having a cup of tea with a distant relative or having a pint in your ancestors' local pub. We've made it happen before!

Country HousesList Item 3
The South West and the Heart of England are home to a incredible diversity of Country Houses; from Medieval Halls to Elizabethan Country Houses; from Duke's Palaces to Palladian Mansions.
Heather has studied the English Country House at Oxford University and is ready and willing to share her insights. Sandrine worked as a guide at one of England's best-known country houses for a number of years, so has the inside knowledge too...
-
Capability BrownList Item 4
Go on the trail of England's most famous landscape designer; Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.
Be it magnificent projects such as Blenheim Palace and Stow or little-known gems such as Heaven's Gate near Longleat let us show you some of England's finest 'managed' landscapes.
Managed landscapes formed a major component of Heather's degree, and she loves the subject so much she's studying at postgraduate level at Oxford - so you'll be in good hands.
-
Country Gardens
The English do love their gardens; be it formal flower beds or a planted landscape belonging to a grand country house or the well-tended cottage gardens in villages and towns.
The Cotswolds and the South West of England are a paradise for garden lovers - as well as the 'big names' there are some hidden treasures to show you too.
-
Food and Drink
With its wealth of top class local produce, the South West is little short of 'foodie heaven'. With a strong loyalty to locally landed seafood, locally reared meat and wonderful dairy produce thanks to our lush, green grass it's no surprise that a number of internationally renowned chefs have opened restaurants here. We can take you to acclaimed restaurants but we know where the 'best-kept' secrets are too.
The good news doesn't end with the food; there are excellent local beers, ciders and wine (that's right world-class wines produced in England).

A Walk in the Woods
England is blessed with some magnificent broad leafed forests and woodland, a haven for wildlife and biodiversity.
Heather has a degree in Ecology and Countryside Management, Ian is a lifelong countryman and Sandrine has been living in the heart of the English countryside for thirty years. So we can do this in French too.
So whether we're walking through carpets of bluebells in May or leaf-peeping and fungus hunting in the autumn, we're the right people to show you around.
One thing's for sure, our ancient woodlands won't disappoint.
